Sustainable Leadership and Change

Coordinator: Dennis Akkerman

Sustainable Leadership and Change Program is about inspiring and guiding leaders and organizations towards a more sustainable future. It requires a holistic approach that considers the triple bottom line: people, planet, and profit.

Core principles of sustainable leadership are:
– Ecocentric mindset: Prioritizing the well-being of the planet and its ecosystems;
– Systemic thinking: Understanding the interconnectedness of environmental, social, and economic factors;
– Long-term perspective: Focusing on creating sustainable value for the future;
– Stakeholder engagement: Involving all relevant stakeholders in decision-making processes;
– Ethical decision-making: Considering the environmental and social impacts of decisions;
– Transparency and accountability: Being open and honest about the organization’s actions and impacts.

To make and lead a sustainable change we focus on
– Transformative change: Shifting the organization’s core values, culture, and operations towards sustainability;
– Incremental change: Implementing smaller, more manageable changes that contribute to overall sustainability goals.
– Systems thinking: Understanding how different parts of the organization interact and influence each other;
– Collaboration: Working with employees, customers, suppliers, and communities to drive change;
– Innovation: Developing new products, services, and processes that are more sustainable.
