At Power for Change Institute, we understand CHANGE as an OPPORTUNITY for learning, growth and development, both for the individual and for society.

We believe in the power of the individual and the community, in the importance of cooperation and co-creation, as well as lifelong learning and improvement.

We understand change also as an ACTIVITY.

We believe in the potential of the individual and believe that she/he already has the power within herself/himself to make the change she/he wants or needs to make.

Through our activities, individuals define the motivation for change and learn and empower themselves how to effectively face change and/or (co)create it.

Tanja Bogataj, MM.Sc.

Founder, CEO, Consultant and Coach

Tanja Bogataj, MM.Sc. is a certified coach for visionary leadership and change mindset at the AMORALEADERSHIP Tanja Bogataj Coaching, Founder and Executive Director of the Power for Change Institute, creator of #bepowerfulandfree® and a Lecturer of HRM in global environment and leadership.

She has more than 25 years of professional experience in the field of law, public policies, management, leadership, personal and professional development, and the design, development and management of teams and complex projects at the national, European and international level. Tanja has a Bachelor’s degree in Law, a Master’s degree in Political science – policy analysis with European aspects, and a Master’s degree in Management – management and organization.

In 2017 she completed a successful almost 20 years long career within the Government of Slovenia, where she was serving at different expert roles and more than 10 years on top leadership roles, covering portfolios like spatial planning, urban development, environment, green economy, and circular economy. She transfers her rich knowledge and experience in an innovative and creative way forward as a coach, trainer, lecturer and speaker in the form of various (tailored/custom-made) educational and coaching programs and other trainings. 
 
Tanja founded Power for Change Institute to provide an environment and support system for empowerment of individuals and organizations on their change journey, and to be change catalysts and leaders of positive change for today and future generations.
 

Dennis Akkerman, MBA

Board member, Consultant and Coach

Dennis Akkerman MBA is the visionary founder and managing director of Orbis Business School. Drawing from his insights of his own life-changing transformation journey and more than two decades of transformational leadership experience, Dennis has emerged as a distinguished transformational coach, facilitator, consultant and captivating speaker on the global stage spanning more than 30 countries. Born and raised in The Netherlands, Dennis has lived in 5 countries and for the last 11 years he has been living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Dennis’ core belief is that transformational leaders are catalysts for positive change. His mission is to help leaders realise their fullest potential, transforming their business and increase their impact.

His vibrant personality radiates energy and enthusiasm combined with a down-to-earth approach. Dennis blends visionary thought leadership with the practical aspects of transformation in a relatable and engaging manner. His holistic view and dedication to drive sustainable change make him an invaluable asset to the world of leadership and transformation.

Dennis holds an MBA degree and is a certified visionary leadership coach and accredited trainer.

James Balzer, MSUSDEV, MPP

Board Member and Educator

James Balzer is an Australian sustainable development practitioner, with diverse experience across government, social enterprise, think tanks and NGOs. He has a strong focus on achieving anticipatory and systems-oriented governance models for sustainable, long-term change across society. This particularly includes the use of futures & foresight methodologies.

He is leading an initiative of the World Economic Forum Global Foresight Network and is a Next Generation Foresight Practitioner (NGFP) Fellow – pursuing more resilient futures for extreme heat adaptation. Likewise, he leads the Cities & States Working Group for the School of International Futures (SOIF) Pledge Network – designing intergenerational governance evaluation frameworks for global cities.

James is currently a Senior Project Officer at the New South Wales Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, where he manages multi-million dollar grant programs for community solar energy programs. He has a Master of Sustainable Development and a Master of Public Policy.

Rev. Dr. Edward Odhiambo Nyamde

Board Member, Mentor and Trainer

Rev. Dr. Edward Odhiambo Nyamde is a dedicated messenger of lasting change, focusing on transforming the lives of individuals and households in rural and peri-urban settings.

He recognizes that poverty in all its forms is a thief that strips individuals of their dignity and integrity through the deceptions it perpetuates. He believes that poverty cannot live where truth prevails. He uses Eco-cultural Theology Foundations model to socially innovate inorder to combat poverty due to its harmful impact on the fundamental values that define human existence.

He believes in the fundamental role of society and community. In this respect, he advocates for global peace, morality and understanding. It is for this reason that he builds and works through influential global thought-leadership partnerships. These partnerships are driven by the belief that individuals should take charge of their own transformation in platforms that enable equal opportunities for all.

In 1999, he established Grace Hour Enterprises, a consulting commercial intermediary organised as an Enterprise Leader. He has since then socially innovated 45 Thematic Projects aimed at yielding positive social change by fostering job creation opportunities, enabling sustainable wealth development, nurturing civic competence, promoting environmental stewardship, and cultivating healthy and wealthy families.

Rev. Dr. Edward Odhiambo Nyamde is a pioneering figure in the realm of social entrepreneurship and missions. His unwavering dedication to these causes has positioned him as a respected thought-leader in the field, driving impactful transformation within communities through his partnerships for lasting change.

Karen-Marie Kragelund, MBA

Expert Council Member, Organisational bridge builder

Karen-Marie Kragelund is a multilingual change catalyst, organisational bridge builder, and leadership advisor.

With over 25 years of real-world experience, living and working everywhere from Denmark and Ukraine to the Netherlands, Australia, and even Mongolia, she brings a long history of delivering value-adding business results across many different industries.

She uses her superpowers to think holistically, reframe challenges, and design tailored solutions and as she nudges organisations and leadership teams to reflect on their true selves, she helps them gain valuable insights that drive meaningful change and progress.

Dr. Merv Wilkinson

Expert Council Member, Catalyst of Change and Consultant

Dr Merv is a highly qualified Australian agent of organisational tranaformations and institutional change. He possesses a PhD in Organisational Culture and Leadership (Qld Uni) , a Masters in Education in innovation and evaluation (Canberra University) ; a Bachelor of Arts in Political Sciences and Government and a Certificate in Teaching. He maintains active engagement as a participant and presenter in contemporary change programs such as Prosci , Agile, Lean and AI for change agents.

Dr. Merv is a change practitioner, with the highest of professional foundational knowledge and expertise in his craft of cultural change and the ability of facilitative leadership to change organisations. He has been a teacher, coach, lecturer, advisor, consultant and has managed and led many organisational leadership and management of change projects across industry and professions. He likes to be a “hands on” change agent, utilising the principles and methods of action learning, action research and action change for implementation and results focus. He maintains that in his high performing teams that he develops trust is the foundational principle that leads to productive results and success.

As an internal and external consultant and change transformation agent Dr Merv has worked in numerous client focussing roles within large transformational change programs, including programs of national significance involving complex processes, people, systems, culture and change.

Bill Phillips

Consultant and Coach

Bill is considered by many people as a natural leader who leads by helping others to succeed.  He has worked and coached for the last four decades with individuals and organisations in 19 countries, assisting them in breaking boundaries and creating better futures for themselves.
 
These days, Bill is known around the world for his work with Neuro Linguistic Programming, better known as NLP.  He has been involved in training and certifying Trainers of NLP from more than a hundred countries, and imparting those special skills to would-be Coaches and people in the world of Personal Development and People Helping.  His current passion is co-building with Mario Burgos this world-wide ICAN Alliance of highly qualified Trainers of Coaches using NLP as their main skillset.
 
An innovator in future-thinking, he originated and developed Future-basing®, a method used worldwide for designing successful futures for organisations, teams, and individuals.  It is especially powerful in enabling even big groups of people to create collective visions and build a powerful sense of common purpose.  Bill has facilitated its use in situations as diverse as the International Red Cross, UN organisations, in urban regeneration, health and education systems.  It has also enabled advances in the oil & gas, large scale engineering, manufacturing & servicing and environmental protection industries.
 
Bill communicates from his heart, knowing that integrity, honesty, and trust are at the root of all healthy relationships and that everything works when people cooperate and collaborate.  His professional and personal life is dedicated to encouraging exactly that. These days he applies his skills to Peacemaking.
